Pick ME!! Pick ME!!! I want a new HP PHOTO BOOK!!!

    November 4, 2007

So you lost the last contest at Mommy Needs a Cocktail. You’re feeling a little down. You expected it to go a little better. This was your contest. You were feeling it. You owned it. And you didn’t win. Well, guess what? There’s another chance to win something great.

The very nice people over at HP sent me some of these really cool photo books that are just hot off their presses. Two sizes. 5″ X 7″ and 8 1/2″ X 11.” Retailing at $14.99 and $24.99, you really can’t beat the price plus convenience of making your mother-in-law’s holiday present while sitting in your robe and furry pink slippers. HP also asked me some questions about my lurve of photography (you can read about it here) and then they offered me FOUR photo books to give away, two of each size.

First, they sent these books to me without realizing that for the past 4 years, I have purchased at least 10 books from at least 4 different online photo sites. Oh, I’m a photo book goddess. It’s the new baby book. Of course I am always paying for rush shipping because I didn’t get my act together in time and now I need the present yesterday and I’m really going to have to pay for it to get here in time.

That’s where the great HP photo book software comes in handy. I can make a total personal creation a la Mommy Needs a Cocktail with the hit of the print button. Borders, the works. Woohoo. You crafty people will love it. You lazy people will love it even more.

    But back to the contest.

Four. There will be four winners. Four. That’s like a million winners. Your odds have just gone up significantly than the last giveaway. This is your shot. And even if you don’t win, you could always head over here to get a 20% off coupon to buy your very own photo books if you buy them online at the HP store. Because once you win one of them from me, you are going to get hooked and then Lord knows the entire world on your Christmas list will be getting a photo book of your cute kids, or your cute dog or that lovely fall leaf photo collection you made. Or maybe you just want to make your own little photo book to take to work to show all the girls the profile photos of all your latest Match.com dates since work will no longer let you access the website. I mean, it’s not like you can decide on Prince Charming alone.

And the nice thing about the photo books? When you break up with The Bachelor from Page Number 7, all you need to do is pop open that binder on your photo book and remove his picture. Maybe you want to rank pictures of your children in order of who is being the least annoying. Baby Boy just pooped in the corner behind the magazine rack. My boy is going right to the back of book and his older brother that just made me a flower out of toilet paper is moving up. It’s as easy as that. What more can you ask for?

But I don’t have a printer, you say? This little one moves wherever you do and doesn’t even need a computer to work. When you are hiding in the bathroom from the kids, you can now expand your list of Things that Can Be Done While Hiding In the Bathroom to include making photo books. I can neither confirm nor deny I know this from personal experience nor do I think the good people at HP intended me to try out the printer in this manner but I’m just saying it sounds like a really good idea. Cough, cough.

But what’s the catch? Well, because we are so high pressure over here at Chateau Cookie, you are gonna have to work for your freebie. Leave a comment here and tell me what YOU would do with the photo book. No need to think about it long and hard. I won’t come to your house to see if you actually follow through. You end up making it and loving it and keeping it, I say, so be it.

I’ll pick a RANDOM winner every day at 9 pm starting on Tuesday and ending on Friday. The winner for the day will be taken out of the running. if you don’t win on Tuesday, you could still win Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. So reality is, the earlier you enter, the less number of people in front of you. Think about it. Just enter once. You are on your honor. No excuses for split personalities…..

If you only knew how many scrapbooks I have spent countless hours constructing…you would know that this could be the next best thing after bottled beer of course.

I have too many ideas so whether I win or not I will mosey my way over to HP or some other photo book site to make my very own creations. What a cute Christmas present for Mark… or the families in NY who miss us desperately. How cute would this be to do for the kids in my class? OK maybe that is a little unrealistic due to cost but it was a great idea since I have 1,000,000,000 amazing pictures of my kids. Hey, I may even make it for you because I have some pretty cute pics of those kids of yours.

My husband’s granny keeps asking for more pics! If I won, this would go to Granny!

    3. Amy says:

While I’ve just started scrapbooking, this would be infinitely easier and faster for some photo projects I’ve got coming up. Namely, our next door neighbors who have two kids that T has taken a gazillion photos of since we moved. I think they deserve all these adorable, serene pictures of their children since they’ve put up with the little devils!

    4. Bellamomma says:

My grandmother will love you forever, add you into her will & crochet blankets for your babies if I win this!

I made her a photo album of Noodle’s pics for Christmas last year ~ this is her only great grandchild (& likely will be the only one for several years) This would be so much easier than wading through 100023 pics to make another one!

    5. laane says:

…and you ask me… with 6 children.. what I’m going to do with a photobook?
      Haha!!

I won’t tear it apart and give my children each a page with a photo of me… oh no!

I’ll put all those photos for display.. all those phots that are waiting in a map, or are on my computer.

      Thanks for this give-away.
I’m living in The Netherlands. Bit far away isn’t it?

But I enjoyed your blog, so all is OK!

    6. susan says:

Hmmmmm. With four children five and under, might I have time to create a super cool scrapbook? Even shove photos in an album? Nooooooo. But, with the cool HP book, who needs time? And – no supplies for my cute little angels to get into, right?

    7. Christy says:

I love the idea of creating a gift for my dear sister, who is also my best friend, to show her how much I appreciate her … eventho she lives on the opposite coast. Looking at photos will remind her of all the good times we’ve had travelling together in the past.

    8. Mark says:

I’d either take photos of my favorite beers and place them in there or better yet provide a veritable walking advertising medium for t-shirts of one enterprising mommypreneur.

    9. Michelle O. says:

I’m a poor excuse for a mom, I’ll admit it…I haven’t done a photo book for my kids in 3 years. Horrible, I know! I switched to all digital, and I have no time, and scrapbooking is expensive, and it’s hard to pick which pics are the cutest, and I’m full of other borderline legitimate excuses. Just joking around…but it’d be nice to win. I’d actually make them a book if it was easy as click, print, slide in. Please consider me…my kids will love you (and me!) forever. Thanks :)

In the last 5 years, I’ve had both my son & daughter get married and provide me with 3 adorable grandchildren. Other than a few in frames on a wall…all of the wedding photos and baby & toddler pictures are in a box under my bed. I hope to be your winner so those photos will have the place of honor they deserve:) Thanks for your generous chance to win an album:)

      November 4th, 2007 at 4:50 pm

    12. Shama-Lama Mama says:

Oh, ya know what I would do?? I would make an actual WEDDING album from my wedding seven years ago! I have all the pics, I have it planned out. I just need the album. I watched the little movie about how you do it and it looks awesome! You are right… I may just have to get them whether I win or not!

      November 4th, 2007 at 5:04 pm

    13. kelli says:

      Wow. That would be great.

At my son’s preschool we have an assignment to make a Memory Book by the end of the year to share with the teachers on the last day of school. And of course, I leave it to the last minute so it would be great to not have to run out to Costco in my PJs to pick up the printed photos to stuff into the album…

    14. michelle says:

I would so intended to make holiday presents. Or I could make theme books and get caught up on my scrapbooking! I imagine if I win – I would e come addicted too and then have to keep purchasing books!

      November 4th, 2007 at 5:50 pm

    15. Devan says:

      Whoa, buddy. This is fabulous.

I would have to choose between a baby book for daughter #1, a baby book for daughter #2, and a wedding album (Shama-Lama Mama, you are not alone! Six and a half years for me!). I know. I was never able to get into scrapbooking, but photobooks rock my world. We made one from our Disney trip this summer.

Yes, I have a Disney vacation photobook but no baby books or wedding album. I know.

My husband and I spent 8 months living, working, and traveling in Europe last year before coming home in January pregnant with our little boy. We have a TON of pictures that I would love to use the photobook for! : )

    20. heather h says:

I would love to say I’d make a glorious HP photo book for my self-sacrificing and deserving mother, my sweet mother-in-law, or even my elderly grandmother, but no way, mama wants a prize! For herself. No sharing this one, I’m making a book of all my cutie-pie’s best photos. Because I’m selfish like that. And I want to look at her sweet face smiling back at me (even if it’s from a book) when she’s really on the floor tossing her head back, shrieking like a banshee, and tantrumming with the best of them.

    21. dawn says:

I too am a photo book slut. I love them. I like doing the layout, etc but having the work done for me. I would love an hp photo book. I would make a great present for the mil for christmas.

      November 5th, 2007 at 6:22 am

    22. Eden says:

Thank you for letting me know about your giveaway! If I win, I would make a the book for my Granny for Christmas, full of pics of her first great-granddaughter!

      November 5th, 2007 at 6:52 am

    23. bad sheep says:

I would create a book for my sister in law. She has a beautiful daughter who is such a ham. However, my SIL cannot get into scrapbooking so does not have any personalized albums to display pictures of her family. I made a scrapbook album for her but she has no time for scrapping. Creating an album already made would be a nice gift to give.

    24. Ginny says:

Count me in, I’ve always wanted to try one of these & never have gotten around to it. I’d most likely make a photo book with dance pictures of my girls in it. Thanks for the great giveaway!

      November 5th, 2007 at 7:39 am

    25. RuthWells says:

My grandmother died this fall at the age of 89. I would compile the best of the archival photos of my gram with her daughters, grandkids, and great-grandkids, and make the photobook a Christmas present for my mom.

      November 5th, 2007 at 8:27 am

    26. liz w says:

honestly, i would probably hold on to it for a couple months until i finally HAVE this baby! then, since it’s the first grandchild on both sides, i think i’d use it for the “first pics” and such to show the grandparents!

      November 5th, 2007 at 8:35 am

    27. Cathy says:

I would end up forgetting to do anything with the scrapbook. Sad but true – I am missing the scrapbook gene (along with the shopping for clothes for fun gene).

My vote is for Mark and Ginny….

      November 5th, 2007 at 8:40 am

    28. Kater says:

Ooooohhh, this would be PERFECT to go with my new Nikon camera that I just got! They were MFEO (made for each other). Sorry…had a little :Sleepless in Seattle” moment there.

Anyway, I would use it to chronicle my munchkins’ various shenanigans, our housebuilding project that is hopefully about to commence, and I might even throw together a cookbook so that I can feel like a real published cookbook author.

      Pick me, Pick me!!

      November 5th, 2007 at 9:01 am

    29. Lisa says:

The books are cool! Scrapbooking gone digital and easy! I would like to say that I would give it as a gift to the grandparents. Unfortunately I know that I would be wy too tempted to keep it here for myself once it was filled with way cute pages of photos of the little ones. Decisions, desicions! Maybe I’d just have to buy some extras so that there would be enough to go around.

    32. InterstellarLass says:

Um. If I had one, I would actually print photos and put them in the book rather than just looking at them on my laptop from time to time. I’m never sure what to actually do with the pictures! Frames, bulky. Photobook, perfect!

    33. Jo says:

This sounds like fun and the kids’ great grandma (who is getting very old by the way…I’m telling you middle 80s, lonely…did I mention very old?…lmao j/k) would love something like this for Christmas or her birthday next year. I think it is something that would be very special to her. Thank you also for sharing the coupons and such. That way if I don’t win I can still try to get her one. :)

      November 5th, 2007 at 10:53 am

    34. Jhianna says:

Oh, I know exactly what I would do with one of these babies. I’d make a photo book of the only grandkid that our parents are going to get: our dog. Maybe that would take some of the sting out of it for the would-be grandparents? No? Darnitall.

      November 5th, 2007 at 5:00 pm

I’d actually print pictures rather than just letting them languish in the memory card.

      November 5th, 2007 at 5:11 pm

    40. Sarah says:

Thanks for letting your Fall Ya’ll participants know about this giveaway. If I won an HP photo book, I would make it for my mother’s Christmas present. She takes traveling temp jobs, only full-time, so she has no roots and no place to store, say, an ugly sweater for Christmas. Or a vase. Or a candle set. Or any of the normal things most people buy their mothers for Christmas. But she *would*, however, have room in her luggage for an HP photo book of her grandchildren! :-)

      November 5th, 2007 at 7:20 pm

    41. Sara says:

What a great giveaway….And just in time for Christmas at that! The greedy part in me would probably fill it with my son’s gagillion (if that’s considered a word…You get the point!:))pictures and keep it out on the coffee table….But being’s that Christmas is right around the corner, the guilt would probably force me into making something cute to give to my sweet, sweet inlaws who don’t get to see my little man as often as they would like! They would love it…And the lazy part of me would smile, beings that I could whip the thing together in my flannel pj’s and slippers! Thanks for the chance to win….Keeping my fingers crossed!

      November 5th, 2007 at 7:31 pm

    42. Aimee says:

How fun! I would use it to make a photo book of the summer for my mother-in-law. She always makes books of the summer for each year, and this would be a nice change I think. Thanks!

      November 5th, 2007 at 7:37 pm

    43. lace says:

I would probably make a first years book of my nieces. I have some great shots of them.

Or maybe an anniversary book of my parents.

      November 5th, 2007 at 7:50 pm

    44. Jen M says:

I would probably (finally) put together a wedding album. Our photographer was a friend who did a great job, but we’ve never had it put in an album. This is such a great giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity!

      November 5th, 2007 at 8:11 pm

    47. Shannon says:

Ok, this is a cool giveaway. With all the pictures I have of my kids, this would save me time!

I love, love, love your blog and am gonna be adding it as a link from mine cause you are hilarious!!

What would I do with this book? Sadly, I am one of those (hides head in shame) people that have tried out a date and I would love to have these people RANKED. But then again it might be hard since not everyone can be the last page. HAHAHAHA!

SO if I were to be more positive, I would say that I would show my friends and family in it… =)

      November 5th, 2007 at 9:38 pm

    53. Jherica says:

Wow oh wow, what would I do with this photobook. Well, I would showcase my thousands of pictures of my boy (I’m absolutely serious…THOUSANDS). After all, my mom didn’t give me the nickname of paparazzi for nothing. lol :)

Ok, I’m game. This would be a great prize because I have 3 kids and a ton of scrapbooking supplies but never have time to actually scrapbook. Printing out the stuff with photos already in? Sweet! And…. I bet I could trick, I mean interest, my sons in making the scrapbook themselves. Playing on the computer AND getting an item crossed off Mum’s to do list! Good times….
